As a part of the commercial communication package on an Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract for the military in support of Operation Joint Guardian, principal responsibilities include providing customer service support on a needed basis to assure system functionality. Duties include Activation / Deactivation services of NIPR, SIPR, and Voice Circuits, and or equipment. Provide training on logins and software operations. Perform weekly/monthly PMI’s (preventive maintenance inspections) directly to Communication Huts, and monitoring stations located in the Communication Hut units. Responsible for monitoring the Cable Line-Team’s operations of their respective duties and ensuring that the procedures and requirements are met within the IOP and referenced documents are adhered to.  

 

Senior Telecom Line/IDNX Systems Specialist, Engineering and Professional Services Incorporated, Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo (November 2001-2006)
 

All Installation associated with a Military Communications customer support, to include maintenance, installation, movement or removal of voice, video communications, data and LAN circuits on the cable. Maintenance responsibilities, telephone poles, manholes, outside terminals, splice points, and bonding and grounding of termination points. General tasks: Site surveys, new installation, cable drawings/record keeping cable-related trouble calls, and service restoration.

 
Cable Systems Supervisor, 123rd Signal Battalion U.S. Army Fort Stewart, GA (January 1998-September 2001)

 

Coordinated and installed a six million dollar installation-wide gigabit Ethernet network from ground up. This includes the deployment of new CAT-5, fiber optic cabling, and gigabit routers and switches. Installed troubleshot, tested and maintained cable systems and related equipment. Coordinated contractors, subcontractors, and local exchange carrier technicians to install data, and telephony services. Ensured problems were resolved, scheduled installations, and assured that all deadlines and specifications were met. Commended for providing communications support to over 3,000 personnel. Installed equipment racks, distribution frames, panels, and various types of Nortel telephone equipment for the Directorate of Information Management (DOIM) on Fort Gordon, who provided telephone and data services to over 7000 customers.  Maintained extensive knowledge of cross connects to include the installation of 66 and 110 blocks, and also terminated hundreds of local area network (LAN) cables.  Awarded for keeping 100% accountability of equipment valued in excess of 4,000,000 with zero discrepancies.  In a volatile area with over 9,000 subscribers, the team ensured that all telephones and data malfunctions were operational within a 24-hour time frame, keeping down time to a minimum.  Awarded, 5 Army Achievement Medal, and 3 Commendation Medals for Tactical Communications Support.
